[Cover] Chain Girl

After two entire days of working I managed to come up with something reasonable. The song is by Hatsune Miku and called Chain Girl. The context is about a girl who feels like she has no freedom and someone (presumably God) is just using (letting her live?) her because he/she/it's using her like a doll. She's frustrated and lonely, and wants them to unchain her.

I don't know how but I managed to memorize the lyrics easily. It seems I memorize easier when the lyrics remind me of myself, like You and Beautiful World and now, Chain Girl.

I put two voices together because I couldn't decide which one was better. The first one was rather assertive but kind of too rough and the second one was very passive but flat sometimes. So I tried putting them together and surprisingly, the two voices cancelled out the worst of each other!

Afterwards I deleted the incurable parts (like hoarseness, off-tune, wrong lyrics) and rerecorded. I'm really glad I got the hang of Audacity; it proved extremely useful as I removed as much background noise as possible, mixed seven audio tracks together and deleted out poorly done parts. It was very fun to record twice for everything I tell you.

[Songs] Exec Ar Tonelico

Recently I've found myself hooked onto hymms from Ar Tonelico.

Ar Tonelico is a game which sounds a lot like a fighting RPG and dating sim put together, but it's not. The fighting RPG thing is still there, but you play as the human and you're not supposed to date your counterparts, known as Reyvateils. All Reyvateils are female so in comes the common female harem in video games.

Even though I've heard the game sucks and I don't like female harems, but I do like the hymms they sing. I especially like Akiko Shikata's hymms, though I'm okay with Mitose Noriko and Shimotsuki Haruka. Exec Chronicle Key and Exec Flip Arphage are absolutely my favourites, I can't get bored of them~

I've also discovered that Exec Chronicle Key is a nice song to play when it's raining heavily. Try someday, it just gives you this really nice feeling. Exec Flip Arphage is more hardcore after the quiet beginning and a lot of people use it for HetaOni AMVs. Or whatever Movie Video it is.

I insert here a picture of Misha, the girl who is supposedly singing when it's actually Akiko singing. I don't think she's very pretty, but I do like Akiko's voice very much.

The Yin/Yang things in her hair are the only things that really make her ugly, other than that she's not so bad. Well, maybe something can be done about the pigtails coming out of the tomoe hairbands in her hair. Akiko sings Exec Chronicle Key under the guise of Misha.

Akiko Shikata also sings for another Reyvateil named Saki. Saki's supposedly the one singing Exec Flip Arphage.

Since I'm on it, I'll put the two other heroine Reyvateils here, and come to think of it, the antagonist too.

This one's Aurica. There's a song named Exec Purger which both Misha and Aurica sing but they have different versions for both of them. I don't really like her hymm singer, but Aurica's quite pretty though.

I find Shurelia's clothes kind of disturbing, but I like the translucent petal-like things at the top of her boots. It's quite cool even if it's not ideal for wearing. She's supposed to be over 700 years old, which is plain creepy but it's always like that.

And this is, or was, the antagonist. Her name is, or was, Mir. The picture I upload, however, is the so-called reborn her, rechristened as Jacqli. Weird name, don't you think? But I guess it has some meaning in another language.

I say Jacqli's dress is cool even if she doesn't look that pretty.

Facebook Parodies

I haven't posted in a while because nothing much's been happening since it's the holidays. I don't want to go back to school, I haven't done my homework... Heck.

So I dug this out. My sister gave it to me a few years back, before Hetalia began to influence me.

Oh the Hetalia.

Hints of FrUK and GerIta? Oh my gay. And Holland supports FrUK, apparently.

[Cover] Meltdown + Carrot and Stick

Actually I sang Carrot and Stick before Meltdown, but I uploaded Meltdown first. So I shall put it in order of the uploading.

But I think I did better for Carrot and Stick.

For some reason I can't find it on Youtube so I'm uploading here. I can't do the Belarus raspy evil voice thing but I'm happy with how I sang for Ukraine. Bela sounds kind of weird in the first part because I just switched voice from Ukraine to Belarus so she actually sounds gentle.

Creepy as hell.

OC Singapore's Shimeji

So I got caught up in the Shimeji craze and began making a Shimeji for Singapore! Hurray!

And I noticed this cool thing. Did you know for the image files for Shimejis they name them "shime1", "shime2", etc? Well, I realized that Shime can be a good nickname for Singapore! Because in Japanese the first sound for "Singapore is "shi" and in Japanese "princess" is "hime". So put those two together and you get Shime! Not to mention it reminds me of "shiro", which is white.

 Picture of Singapore sitting
 Singapore of Singapore falling
This really random picture I made.
Apparently reminds people of nyan cats.

At the rate I work it should take me about 3 more days, meanwhile I'll try to see if it can work!

Singapore Shimeji!

So I've been inspired by Hetalia Shimejis and am making a Shimeji of OC Singapore! Will work on Lili after that too.
I'm using my phone to update. Tomorrow I'll post the current design.

Teacher's Day

Today is September 1st, the day when the church bells ring. Well actually it's Teachers' Day. So I decided to just try making something to give to the teachers. You know, handmade to show the effort in it, et cetera, et cetera.
It was actually pretty disgusting how I made it.

I made this stupid thing:
Ingredients:
1/6 lump of butter (the kind that comes in rectangles)
200ml (or so) of water
1/7 tin of condensed milk (I'm estimating here)
Sugar (you decide yourself how much you want)
2 Eggs (Mother's suggestion)
2 Teaspoons of Starch (Mother's suggestion)

1. Firstly, pour the water into a metal pan/whatever you wanna make it in.
2. Put the butter in.
3. Put it in the oven and heat it up before dissolving the butter.
4. Take it out once all the butter has been dissolved.
5. Repeat steps 2 to 4, only replace the butter with sugar.
6. Pour condensed milk in. The water should be hot enough to dissolve it.
7. Make sure that the butter, sugar and milk are all dissolved into the water.
(From here on is with my mother's help)
8. Crack the eggs and beat them.
9. Pour the egg into the mixture and mix them together.
10. Add some water to the starch to get starch water.
11. Pour the starch water inside and mix.
12. Microwave the mixture till its texture becomes like jelly.
13. Bake it in the oven to remove any excess water.

The result looks like this:

Not too bad for a first try at cooking. The texture is rather like that of pudding/jelly/custard/egg tart. It's a bit burnt at the top, as you can see... After I finished baking there was still a lot of excess oil, which was pretty disgusting so I poured away as much as I could without pouring out the... Whatever it is.

Actually the recipe was based off the recipe for Scottish Tablets because I couldn't find any flour and had to do without it. But the proportions of the ingredients and the heating method was really different so I ended up with... This.

One of my classmates was amazing to enough to guess that there was condensed milk and eggs inside the thing. Sad thing is, one thought it was egg tart, another pudding, yet another custard, and my mom reckoned it was guei (this thingy kind of like mooncakes, only much softer and less flashy). But at least they said it tasted nice.

I had the time of my life doing these:

1. Holding up the knife I used to cut it and going to other people while smiling innocently.

2. Talking to the teachers:
Me: "Would you like some?"
Teacher: "What's this?"
Me: "I have no idea."

3. Inviting my senior to come over and have some by saying innocently, "By the way, why don't you drop by my class and try some of this thing I made that I don't know what it is but I think it's edible."

4. Going around looking around suspiciously and conspicuously hiding a shiny knife.

5. Saying, "Everyone thinks I'm a mass-murderer just because I'm holding a knife!" with a pitiful look on my face, while I wave the knife around dangerously.

Yeah, knives and mysterious food are really fun to use to manipulate others.

And I told the Geography teacher this:
"Do you have a niece called Sze Min who likes dragons and likes to draw?"
"Yeah, how do you know her?"
"We're friends."
Cue WTH look from teacher.

I should do more of these someday.
